Philip Betts
After spending eight years at Midland Bank working in various capacities, I moved into the asset finance sector with Royal Bank Leasing, tasked with generating new business. After two years I was head hunted to manage the asset finance division for Fraser Smith, the financial services arm of Fraser Russell, where I provided in-house advice to clients and external businesses. In September 1995 I established PB Corporate Finance, a brokerage sourcing funding solutions for SME businesses, which traded successfully for 10 years in London and East Anglia. I sold the business to the IYG Group, a call centre operator with businesses in the UK and India, remaining both a board director of PB Corporate Finance and the parent company. At the end of October 2005 I left to establish my own consultancy – Primary Asset Finance.
Vincent Bull
I started my career in the insurance sector with Norwich Union. After three years I moved into the asset finance sector working with Lloyds TSB / UDT in 1987, initially in new business generation, but progressing quickly into management. I left the sector in 1994 to join Lombard Nat West (invoice discounting and factoring division) and was then head hunted in 1997 to establish the sales function for Singer & Friedlander Factors Ltd. I established Potential Finance Ltd in 2000 with the directors of Singer & Friedlander and floated on AIM, raising circa £6.5 million. As a result, I established a £25 million funding line with GE Capital and grew the client base to 200. When I left at the end of 2003, I started up a consultancy raising funding for SME companies.
John Fox
John was previously Business Development Director of AT Communications Group Plc where he had Group responsibility for the development of the £20m corporate sales structure and relationship management with major clients and business partners. Prior to that John was a founder member of the MBO team that acquired Sterry Communications (UK) Ltd with the intention to acquire, build and drive to profit the telecommunications infrastructure support company. During the ten year ownership the organisation returned year on year profits of circa 10% net on turnover and was seen as the most profitable company in its sector. John is commercially aware and has benefited from working in corporate and private organisations on Senior Manager and Director levels, with experience in mergers and acquisitions. He also has brand building skills and marketing expertise.
